After many hours of praying to God, conversing with myself, family and friends, I've accepted the call to share my gift of singing to the world. Although I'm still not sure what that means, I am and will continue to be prepared to do what God will have me do to achieve His will through me.

In January 1999, my mom, Vivian Shafer, was called home to be with the Lord. I was grateful to God that during her three-year battle with cancer, she lived a full and active life until her last three weeks. Mom was one of my biggest fans, and it was important to me to walk in the strength she so often displayed by being totally dependent on the Holy Spirit. I sang at her Home Going Service, and it was during that time I heard and accepted my life long call.

I say my life long call because for many years I've enjoyed singing in various venues especially in church. But I never saw myself having a solo career in gospel music. However, God had other plans. As the Word so clearly states in Proverbs:

"Trust in the Lord with all your heart and lean not to your own understanding but in all your ways acknowledge Him and he shall direct your path."

So that is exactly what I am doing... trusting. I am truly amazed at how the Father has blessed my every step and carries me through each situation.

So much has happened since I accepted my call, the opportunity to record my first CD, concert engagements, the sudden loss of my dad, just to name a few. It has not always been easy but I can say that He carries me and His presence has caused me to pursue this calling with confidence.

My prayer is that you too will experience the comfort, joy and power that comes from a personal relationship with Jesus Christ the Savior. Allow him to carry you through the joys, sorrows, triumphs as well as defeats and never feel that you're alone.

I hope you will join me in this lifelong journey in ministry. This is only the beginning; there is so much more to come. Please know that you matter to me and consider each visit here a request on your part for prayer!

May God Bless You
