As
a life long gospel singer, one of my desires has always been to make a
gospel CD. Making "He Carries Me," my first CD project, has
been a wonderful experience. As I look back, so much of my life has prepared
me for this experience. While growing up, my family attended a Baptist
Church, where I was drawn to the Gospel message through the music.
As a small child, I often sang with the Children's Choir at Easter and
Christmas. At the age of nine, I joined our elementary school choir. In
the fifth grade, our choir enjoyed the privilege of performing with the
Dave Brubeck Quartet at Symphony Hall in New York City, a memorable experience.
As I entered Junior High, I joined our Church's Junior Choir, where I
learned to sing solo. After graduating from High School and Junior Church
Choir, I was headed off to Drexel University in Philadelphia, PA. It was
there that I became a founding member of the Drexel University Gospel
Choir, which is now a 100 strong and growing to this day. After college,
I joined the Steven Walker Love Ensemble, a contemporary Christian gospel
group.
In 1989, I married my husband Steve. We have three wonderful children
in Terrence, Calvin and Quinn. We make Wilton, Connecticut our home after
previously residing in the Chicago and North Jersey areas. No matter where
we have lived, we've made our church a center of our family life. We worship
at the Covenant Church of Easton, CT where I belong to the Sanctuary Choir,
Bell Choir, and direct the King's Kids, our church's children choir. In
addition, I maintain an active concert schedule, performing a blend of
traditional and contemporary gospel mixed with rhythm and blues. My goal
has always been to communicate the Gospel of Jesus Christ to people of
all races, religions, denominations, and walks of life.
